The public bus
We didn’t find it…. but it was a new system. It's a bus that stop in all the main beach
(no drop off at hotels, they stop by the Beaches) it’s a city bus and can be filled with
a lot of people. If you take this option remember that you can only pay with the exact
amount of money. They won’t have change. It’s the cheapest option and that one (correct
me if i am wrong) doesn’t stop at a travel agency.
The tourist bus
There's a few agency at the airport that propose bus ride to different beach/town on the
island. (They are really easy to spot and if you don't see them, they will see you)
Basically they pack around 10 person in a van with A.C and drop you off at your hotel.
Compared to what I was expecting it’s not very expensive. Only 20 baht more than the
public bus so 160 baht to go to park g beach witch is 1 hour drive. But there’s a small
catch and they won’t warn you. They make a stop at a traveling agency where they will
try to sell you tour and trip. Don’t worry if you tell them you are not interested they
back off really fast. You just have to wait for everyone to finish booking their tours
and you go back on your way.
Taxi/grab
As in any airport you will find an endless amount of taxi ready to take you wherever you
want and they won't forget to charge you the airport fee. It’s the most expensive option
but also the least worry and fastest.
Motorbike (inexpensive)
You can hop on the back of a Motorcycle (Grab motorbike ride). It's interesting if you
are traveling light and staying in the town of phuket (yes the island have a town call
the same way… It’s a classic) I don’t recommend that option as it may be stressful
(traffic…) and hurt your butt… patong beach is 1h away from phuket airport. So doing the
transport squeezed on a bike with luggage promise to be fun.
