Extending your stay
Sometime you fall in love with a city, an island or an hotel so much that you want to
stay for longer. (or sometime you just book for less time than the actual length of your
stay because you are uncertain of the real look of the hotel…)
Here some tips to help you extend your stay at the cheapest rate possible.
First of all, check the price online for the dates you want to extend (it will also tell
you if there’s availability).
Second ask the reception for a price to extend your stay. If they give you a higher
price than internet (normally they will…) show them the internet price. Normally the
hotels will match the price on internet if they don’t just book online, the worst that
can happen is that you will be ask to change room.
But in most case they match the price and at this point, you can negotiate for a lower
price since they won’t have reservation fee from the website. Also, if you pay cash you
can get a better rate since they won’t have credit card fee.
Warning: One thing that happened to us is that we had to change rooms 5 time. The
website was showing availability but since we were booking for a standard room, we get
what they had. In that case that ment 1 deluxe room for 2 night , 1 family room for 1
night, back to a deluxe room… But the bed had a bed fame at the end and alexis couldn’t
it. So for the last few days we had another room. All of that because they did have
availability but not all in one room. Fortunately for us, since we were extending
directly with them they warned us about it and we were fine with it. But that can also
happen if you are booking normally through AGODA. (owner of that hotel says that it
happens often during high season and they don’t know how to make the website change..)
